- What’s the difference between ‘Functional’ programs and ‘Steel’ programs?
Steel Fitness programming is for people who participate in competitive fitness/training. Exercises in this program (dependant on the chosen level) may include ring muscle-ups, heavy Olympic lifting and pistol squats.
Functional Fitness programming is for people who are after a more general fitness approach. You will gain fitness in all aspects. Exercises in this program may include weightlifting movements such as back squats and bench press as well as aerobic movements like running and rowing.
- How long do the programs take?
All regular programs have rough estimations of completion times on the Sign Up page. Custom programs will differ depending on your goals, time and equipment constraints.
- It says 4-5 workouts per week but I only train 3 times per week, what do I do?
Each program has 5 workouts per week. If this is not achievable, simply pick the workouts which will provide the greatest improvement for you. If you have areas of weakness ensure you are not avoiding them. As always, if you are unsure, feel free to contact us and we can help you identify weaknesses and pick the correct workouts for you.
- What equipment do I need?
The equipment required for each level of programming may vary slightly. There are some obvious pieces of equipment which are integral and necessary for your training. As well as some other items which are desired but not as necessary. There are simple substitutions we can make for many movements. For example, if you train from home and don’t have an air bike we can easily substitute it for a rower or run OR if the commercial gym you train at doesn’t have a wall available for wall balls we can substitute for medball squats. If you have limited equipment simply contact us and we can accommodate your training scenario.
